I was talking to one of the Techs at DART the other day and he said they are doing all the engine work for Billy Glidden and Justin Humphreys. He said they just keep a supply of motors built and rotate as needed. He said they pull the heads every 15-20 passes and re-use the MLS gaskets. Their crewchiefs prefer a head gasket that has been run, he says they can be more sure of where it will compress to once it has been torqued and heated a couple of times.
They clean them up and spray them with trim adhesive and reinstall.
It will be interesting to see if a BIG DOG like Dart can make a dominating engine program. It is obvious right now they aren't making the horsepower of Greg Andersons program.
We will see.
