I have heard 100 different theories on this subject from less crank twist to more low end torque to more high end horsepower to longer valve sping life to less cam flex........as far as I am concerned, it's another "Trick of the week" and unless it gives you more cam-to-rod bolt clearance on stroker motors, or neatens up you wires from the distributor cap, it's just another urban legend. Just out of curiosity, why would 5 & 7 get hot in a circle track engine??
