KAM, Good info. I'd say that is probably the best info on fuel savings I've heard in a while, but most people don't think that aerodynamics or tire pressure or engine tune will make THAT much of a difference in overall mileage. But if you combine them all it's a different story.
If you look at it this way, a gain of only 1/2 mile to the gallon means 50 extra miles from every 100 gallons you burn. That's 50 miles FREE. Another good point you bring up is "Driver Operation". Next time you are dragging your loaded enclosed trailer up a steep grade, try this: Keep pulling back on the accelerator until you notice the truck starting to slow down. You will be surprised at how far you will back off the throttle before you notice any difference in power. This was all fuel wasted on nothing more that poor driver habits. Mashing the gas has no place in a $3.50-$4.00 a gallon world.
